Maria Devlin McNair (AM 2014, PhD 2017)

 

         

Maria Devlin McNair grew up in Bronxville, NY. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Thomas Wolfe Scholar, where she received a BA in Mathematics and English and a Minor in Creative Writing. She received her PhD in English from Harvard GSAS in 2017, specializing in Shakespeare and Renaissance literature. She moved to St. Louis with husband Sean McNair (HDS ’16) and in 2018 began teaching English at St. Louis University High and working for the podcast ‘Ministry of Ideas.’ Maria is currently an editor and producer for Lyceum Studios (www.lyceum.fm), a podcast production team based in Cambridge, MA, and the creator of ‘Shakespeare For All,’ an online audio course on Shakespeare’s life, poetry, and twenty-four of his plays (www.shakespeareforall.com). Maria is an Affiliate of the Von Hügel Institute, St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge, and is currently collaborating with the Institute on their research project “Shakespeare and the Common Good?”

Maria and Sean have two children, Margaret (born 2019) and George (2022). They are parishioners at St. Anselm.
