Robert Zafft (AB 1986; JD 1990)
Robert's Harvard studies led him to 1990s Russia, where bankers were getting blown up on Main Street at rush hour.
His adventures include two financial crises, one coup attempt, and postings in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nursultan (Kazakhstan's capital), London, and Paris. He has worked as a global law firm partner, McKinsey consultant, Senior Expert for the OECD, and Team Leader for Tony Blair Associates.
Robert recently published, The Right Way to Win: Making Business Ethics Work in the Real World and writes a column for Forbes. He also teaches Business Ethics at Olin Business School and serves, Of Counsel, at Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, PC.
Like any true St. Louis native, Robert (CDS '82) returned to his birthplace to put his three children through high school (Clayton). Eleanor will graduate from Harvard in 2022. Dietrich serves in the IDF special forces, and Eva graduates this spring from Clayton.
Once the nest empties, Robert and his wife, Dr. Tara Zafft, will seek new adventures overseas.
For now, they enjoy all that St. Louis has to offer by way of family, friends, and gooey butter cake.
